1. The Service

Welcome to StepRec. StepRec is an AI screen-recording tool that turns a single recording into step-by-step operation guides and SOP documents, provided by [To be confirmed], an independent developer operating StepRec ("StepRec", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If the Chinese translation of these Terms differs from the English version, the English version prevails.
StepRec consists of a browser extension for capturing screen recordings and a cloud service that stores recordings and, at your request, processes them with AI (including speech transcription and document generation) to produce guides, documents, and presentation files.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, to use the service.
3. Plans and Billing
- Free plan: available at no charge with limited transcription minutes, storage, and AI generations, as shown on our pricing page.
- Pro (personal): USD 20 per month, billed monthly or yearly.
- Team (enterprise): USD 15 per seat per month, minimum 3 seats, billed monthly or yearly. Viewers who only read shared content are not charged.
- Custom: available under a separate written agreement with custom pricing and implementation services billed separately.
- Yearly billing bonus: yearly plans are charged for 12 months and include 3 additional bonus months of service. Bonus months have no cash value and are not convertible or refundable.
- Add-on packs: additional transcription minutes (USD 2 per 600 minutes) may be purchased by paid-plan subscribers.
- Payments are processed by our merchant-of-record partners. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
- Mainland China notice: for users in mainland China, monthly plans do not renew automatically. Your access continues until the end of the paid period, and you may renew manually at any time.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers; changes apply from the next billing period.
4. Your Content
You retain all rights to recordings, audio, and documents you create with StepRec ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the service to you, including AI transcription and document generation at your request.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring that you have all rights and consents necessary to record, upload, and process it — including the consent of any person whose voice, image, or confidential information appears in a recording.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the service to record or distribute content you have no right to capture; (b) upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; (c) attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer (except where legally permitted), or gain unauthorized access to the service; (d) resell or provide the service to third parties except as expressly permitted by your plan; (e) exceed plan quotas through automated or abusive means.
6. Intellectual Property
The service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any such rights to you beyond the limited right to use the service.
7. Suspension and Termination
You may cancel at any time; paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably practicable. Upon termination, you may export Your Content for 30 days, after which it may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers and Liability
The service is provided "as is". AI-generated output may contain errors and should be reviewed before use; we are not responsible for decisions made based on generated content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
